During our rides, we embrace these values and spread them on the community. We rely on all our members embodying these values.
Started as a dream, turned into reality.
It all started mid-2021. Stoff, the bikefitter at Kaptein and a former National Road Champ in South Africa, and Daan would often find themselves enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Amsterdam on their morning rides. They shared a vision: to create a cycling club with a high-quality, stylish kit and a penchant for cool activities.
Amsterdam's cycling scene was missing something fresh and exciting—a club with a top-notch kit that wasn't plastered with sponsors, and that organized awesome events. It felt like a golden opportunity.
When Stoff and Daan pitched their idea to Jeffrey, the owner of Kaptein Tweewielers, everything clicked into place. Miel, a mechanic at Kaptein, joined as the third board member, and the first step was taken.
After a painful 6 months of officially setting up as an Association, associated with the KNWU, our club was born.
We started with an inaugural group of 50 members back in March 2022, which quickly grew to 65. Today, our community boasts over 300 members, with more than 200 proudly sporting our sleek white Etxeondo kit.
What started as a simple dream has turned into an incredible reality. We're beyond grateful to all our members who have joined us on this amazing journey. Here's to many more rides, adventures, and memories!
